I purchased this business primarily for emotional reasons – the need to be occupied and do something. I now realise that at the time I purchased I didn’t really understand the business I was buying or how much the newsagency game has shifted. Fortunately, I decided that I needed to join a Group. I asked the previous owner what he thought of Groups. He said Nextra was the best and if he was going to join a Group it would be Nextra. He was very strong on analysis but not so strong on action. So I took his advice and I am so glad I did. I like the energy around Nextra, the level of customer service and the focus on moving with the times.
Nextra has been a breath of fresh air for our business. We always find the Nextra Team to be professional, positive and always available when needed – no problem is too hard! Either by phone, email or in person, the Nextra Head Office communication to the stores is always full of valuable information and appreciated. The Marketing Department is a great asset to the Group – extremely proactive and helpful. We have had nothing but wonderful assistance from them – from the regular instore promotions to them helping us with our specific instore material requirements. Couldn’t be happier!

The Leasing Industry knowledge together with impressive negotiating skills was exactly what we needed when it was time to negotiate our lease. We were originally offered a five year lease. That was until Nextra took over the negotiations. Nextra turned that around to a 10-year lease with much better terms. Overall, joining Nextra was a great business decision!
When I am asked why I enjoy being part of Nextra I always answer that it is because of the people.
